Bayern Munich are in talks to sign Aston Villa star Marcus Rashford from Manchester United, as per reports.
Rashford has seemingly rediscovered his mojo at Villa after joining Unai Emery’s side in a loan deal during the winter transfer window.
The 27-year-old impressed with his electric pace and dribbling in his opening three games for the Lions before playing a key role in Villa’s late win over Chelsea on Saturday.
He came off the bench in the second half with Villa trailing Chelsea by a goal. The England international toyed with Malo Gusto on the left flank and registered two assists for Marco Asensio, helping his new side take home all three points.
Despite his promising start, it remains unclear whether Villa will exercise their option to sign Rashford permanently for £40 million. Amid this uncertainty, a top European side have made a move for the Englishman.
According to Fichajes, Bayern are growing increasingly interested in Rashford and are already working on securing his services.
The Spanish outlet claim the United academy product could move to the Bundesliga outfit for an initial fee of £40m.
Further, they add that the Bavarians’ sporting director Max Eberl is “personally overseeing the negotiations.”
Bayern are expected to be in the market for a new attacker or two as Leroy Sane and Serge Gnabry are nearing the end of their respective contracts.
The German giants see Rashford as a player who could be a game-changer for them in the Bundesliga as well as the Champions League.
Ruben Amorim is also in need of a game-changer in the final third and Rashford’s sale could boost his transfer budget at the end of the season.
Recently, The Peoples Person relayed a report claiming United want to sign Victor Osimhen in the summer to lead their frontline.
