Real Madrid’s Jude Bellingham has made the Fifpro men’s World XI of 2024 alongside four Manchester City players.
Bellingham, the sole English player in the team, claimed the most votes of any player after receiving 11,176 votes from his peers.
This year’s XI is dominated by Manchester City and Real Madrid players, with Liverpool’s Virgil van Dijk the fifth player from the Premier League and the only one not from the other two sides.
Lionel Messi, who now plays for Major League Soccer side Inter Miami after leaving French Champions Paris-Saint Germain in July 2023, is absent from the team for the first time since 2006.
Erling Haaland is joined in the front three by Vinicius Jr and Kylian Mbappe, who arrived at Real in the summer from PSG. Bellingham, Dani Carvajal, Antonio Rudiger and Toni Kroos were all part of the Madrid side that won La Liga and the Champions League, with Carvajal also winning Euro 2024 with Spain. Kroos retired in the summer following the end of Germany’s Euros campaign.
Haaland is joined by teammates Ederson, Kevin De Bruyne and Ballon d’Or winner Rodri, after helping the Citizens to a fourth consecutive Premier League title. Rodri also won the Euros alongside Carvajal.
