Arsenal striker Kai Havertz is back in training ahead of the Gunners’ final two games of the Premier League campaign, though Mikel Arteta wouldn’t say for certain whether the German international will play against Newcastle United this weekend.
Speaking in his press conference on Friday, Arteta explained: “We’re going to decide that tomorrow.
“He’s done certain parts of the sessions in the last two days and looks in great shape, but I think it’s more of a shout for all the medical staff, the doctor especially to give the clearance and then how Kai actually feels to contribute if he’s required.”

Yet Arteta has been very complimentary of Havertz’s work behind the scenes during his return from injury, and he’s not the only one.
When asked about Havertz’s absence this week, Ben White responded that the German looks like he’s never been away.
“It’s so funny, he hadn’t trained for months yet came back into the team the other day and was still unbelievable,” White said.

Arsenal won’t want to take any risks with Havertz’s fitness. It’s been almost three-and-a-half months since his last game, and rushing him straight back into the starting lineup might not be worth the risk.
But even just having the 25-year-old in the squad on Sunday would be a boost to morale, and would raise the possibility he could then make a more significant appearance on the final day of the season away to Southampton.
Despite his long spell out of action, Havertz remains Arsenal’s top scorer this season with 15 goals in all competitions.
