Benfica predicted XI v Monaco: Florentino Luís to feature against former club, Angel Di Maria to start | OneFootball

Florentino Luís is expected to start in the heart of midfield for Benfica as they take on his former club, AS Monaco, in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday.

The midfielder, who came through the ranks at Benfica, spent a year on loan at the Principality club, making just nine appearances during the 2020/21 season. However, the 25-year-old has featured prominently for Benfica this season, making 14 appearances in all competitions.

Elsewhere, Angel Di Maria will start for Benfica on the right wing after his spectacular acrobatic effort on the weekend as the former Paris Saint-Germain forward makes his return to France. One player who won’t be making his return to France is Renato Sanches. The injury-plagued midfielder is currently on loan from Paris Saint-Germain, however, he suffered an injury in training last week and will therefore play no part against Monaco.
