Manchester United did well to send Jadon Sancho out on loan to Chelsea in the summer with the Premier League rivals having an obligation to buy him for £25 million should they finish above 14th.

They remain on course to comfortably finish in the top half of the table, however, the Blues are reportedly having cold feet regarding securing the Englishman on a permanent deal.

The 25-year-old has managed a meagre two goals in 28 appearances across all competitions. In fact, his form has dipped so significantly since December that the winger has no goals and only one assist in his last 14 games.

The Stamford Bridge outfit will have to pay a significant penalty to get out of the obligation which is why they still plan on signing the England international but not for long.

Chelsea don’t want to keep Sancho

As relayed by The Peoples Person, Chelsea want to sell him straight away in the summer with the winger himself eyeing a move back to Borussia Dortmund.

Sancho has fared well in both his spells at the Signal Iduna Park, but as revealed by Sky Sports, the Bundesliga giants will struggle to afford his signature.

Apart from having to pay a substantial fee, the Englishman’s wages of £150,000 gross per week (via capology) will also prove hard for Dortmund to match.

On top of that, Dortmund are set to miss out on Champions League football and they do not need a winger at the moment, which makes a summer deal unlikely.

The German side had sold the Englishman to United €85 million and despite signing his praises during his second loan spell last season, it seems even they don’t want to take a risk on the problematic attacker.

Dortmund cannot afford him

Sky reporters Patrick Berger and Jesco von Eichmann explained the situation. “What we know is that Jadon is always looking towards Dortmund; he had his best years there.

“But the question is, even if he wants it: What does BVB want? He’s not Borussia Dortmund’s priority, and certainly not the position. The purchase option is around 32-35 million euros.

“Added to that is a salary in the double-digit million range. It’s not a hot topic at the moment, because it would obviously be an insane amount of money. Of course, the situation surrounding Jaden remains interesting and will be monitored.”

United will be delighted that they do not have to worry about the latest problem in Sancho’s career with the player burning every bridge possible with his parent club.
