Brentford reports fan sanctions of home matches since January 2025   | OneFootball

Brentford Football Club has provided an update on fan sanctions that took place between our home fixtures from January to March 2025.

The club last published fan sanctions in mid-February, providing a record of all fan sanctions issued during the 2024/25 season up to and including Brentford’s match against Arsenal, which took place on 29 December 2024.

In the first half of this season, 168 individuals were sanctioned due to various incidents concerning fan behaviour.

Following a request from our fan advisory board (FAB), the club will now release updates on the number of fan sanctions on a quarterly basis.

The numbers detailed today cover the club’s fixtures at Gtech Community Stadium against Manchester City and Arsenal in January, Tottenham Hotspur and Everton in February, and Aston Villa in March.

During this period, the club issued 78 individuals with sanctions. Of this number:

Of the 69 breaches of ground regulations, the majority of these were due to away fans being identified in home areas. These incidents all took place at our matches against Manchester City, Liverpool and Tottenham.

During the five fixtures in this period, 186 memberships were revoked due to ticket touting and related breaches. For reference, up to the Arsenal game in December 2024, 440 memberships were rescinded for ticket touting and related breaches - an increase compared to the same stage last year.

The club continues to take strong action against ticket touting and away fans in home areas, with particular focus on high-profile games such as Manchester City, Liverpool and Tottenham, which all occurred during this period.

For our Liverpool fixture, we increased the ticket access points (TAPs) threshold to 100+ TAPs to increase security for our fans.

This is a policy the club introduced at the start of last season. We continue to monitor unauthorised reseller websites, policing any suspicious booking or sales behaviour, and working with fans who have been victims of ticket touts.

Sally Stephens, fan and community relations director, said: “At our last fan advisory board meeting, we agreed to publish our fan sanctions update on a quarterly basis. We agreed with the FAB that the added transparency will be beneficial and demonstrate how the club is continuing to deal with fan behaviour issues.

“During this period, we had some high-profile fixtures where we recognised the importance of taking decisive action against those who engage in ticket touting and where tickets are given to away fans, and that’s what we have sought to do.

"We will continue to keep these methods in place as we head into the final stretch of the season.”
