Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti has come to a final decision on the penalty-taker pecking order in his squad.
That’s according to Blancos insider Miguel Ángel Díaz of COPE, who has confirmed that the intention moving forward is for Vinícius Jr. to take responsibility from 12 yards.
Carlo Ancelotti hinted at one designated penalty specialist being appointed in his squad over the weekend.
This came after the club’s rotation policy proved costly, upon Jude Bellingham fluffing his lines from the spot in a La Liga meeting with Valencia.
All associated with the reigning Spanish champions will therefore no doubt be interested to hear of their side having now appointed one clear-cut first-choice penalty-taker.
As per a report from Miguel Ángel Díaz:
‘Ancelotti, who said in Valencia that he would choose the penalty taker, has already made his decision: it will be Vinícius.’
It is worth noting that wide-man Vinícius has managed to convert each of his seven penalty attempts in Real Madrid colours, with Kylian Mbappé having missed two of his five, and Jude Bellingham one of his three.
