Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti has early this week hinted that Nico Paz could yet feature prominently in the future plans of the club.
Youngster Paz, for his part, secured a departure from the Spanish capital over the summer.
In the knowledge that his route to first-team minutes remained a crowded one at best this season, the Argentine international made the call to leave his long-time club behind.
Paz, in turn, put pen to paper on terms with Serie A newcomers Como, under the watch of midfield icon Cesc Fàbregas.
The 20-year-old has since enjoyed a fine start to life in Italy, shining from his berth at the heart of the Como engine room.
Such excellence has given rise to early murmurs that Paz’s form has already piqued the attention of those back at Real Madrid, who secured a buyback option as part of the terms of his sale.
Speaking to the media on Monday, it therefore came as little surprise when the name of the midfielder was put to Blancos boss Carlo Ancelotti.
And, in quotes collected by Rai Radio 1, and relaid by Diario AS, Ancelotti went on to confirm:
“Nico Paz is a player we are following a lot. He is very good and has great talent. This season away from Real Madrid has been very good for him. We believe he is a player who can be part of the future of Real Madrid.”
