Carlo Ancelotti provides update on Nico Páz’s future at Real Madrid | OneFootball

Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti has this week confirmed that the club are keeping a close eye on the efforts of Nico Páz.

The name of midfielder Páz has of course proven a prominent one in Spain’s capital across the season to date.

As much comes with the Argentine international in the midst of nothing short of a superb campaign.

After departing Real Madrid for Serie A outfit Como last summer in search of regular playing time, Páz has since established himself as a key figure in boss Cesc Fàbregas’ engine room ranks.

All told, across 25 appearances in Italy to date, the 20-year-old has racked up six goals and six assists.

And such ongoing excellence on Páz’s part will not have gone at all unnoticed on the part of his former employers at the Santiago Bernabéu.

As part of the deal which sent their midfield starlet to Como, Real Madrid secured for themselves a buyback clause.

Amid speculation that the brass in Madrid are already considering activating as much, the subject of Páz’s potential return was therefore, on Wednesday, put to Carlo Ancelotti.

And Real’s headmaster was not shy in confirming that Los Blancos are indeed monitoring their ex-midfielder closely:

“Nico Páz is our player, we’re constantly monitoring his progress in Italy… we will decide about his future at the end of the season. He’s doing excellent at Como but we didn’t have any doubt. He’s a very good player.”
