Atalanta star Ademola Lookman will play at home for the first time today after a penalty kick argument with Gian Piero Gasperini, but according to Corriere dello Sport, the Nigerian forward ‘knows’ that his future is ‘away’ from Bergamo.

Atalanta host strugglers Venezia at the Gewiss Stadium in the afternoon. If they win, the Nerazzurri will reach Inter in the top spot, waiting for their away game at Napoli at 18:00 CET.

It will be his first home appearance since Atalanta’s Champions League exit against Club Brugge less than two weeks ago, which was overshadowed by the penalty kick dispute involving the striker and his coach Gasperini.

Saturday’s printed edition of Corriere dello Sport, on page 24, reported that Lookman will surely leave Atalanta at the end of the season.

‘Lookman knows his future is away from Bergamo, with Juventus and PSG waiting for developments,’ wrote journalist Patrick Iannarelli.

Lookman joined Atalanta in a €9m deal from RB Leipzig in 2022. He has 17 goals and seven assists in 29 appearances across all competitions this term.
