Celtic facing competition from Borussia Dortmund for £6m midfield target | OneFootball

Celtic are reportedly facing competition from Borussia Dortmund for the signature of Lennon Miller. The 18-year-old was included in Steve Clarke’s side for the Nations League Play-off aggregate defeat to Greece but didn’t make his debut.

Miller is one of Scotland’s brightest talents and Celtic have been heavily linked with the player with a view to becoming Callum McGregor’s successor in the team.

As reported Not The Old Firm, Dortmund are among Bundesliga sides that are interested in signing Miller.

At just 18, Miller has already amassed 67 appearances for Motherwell, scoring 5 goals and assisting on 9 occasions. Celtic will need to pay in excess of £5m to land the midfielder but it is a player that will only increase in value.

Celtic have a talented bank of midfielders at the club with Callum McGregor, Reo Hatate, Arne Engels, Paulo Bernardo and Luke McCowan. Miller would look slot into that midfield or remain at Motherwell to continue his impressive development on loan from Celtic.  The consensus from the Celtic support appears to be that the club need to act swiftly and get a deal done to make sure that Miller turns out in the Hoops next season. Miller will only get better and the bedrock of Celtic has always been the best Scottish talent. It is imperative that this continues.

Motherwell believe that they will bring in more than they did for David Turnbull, meaning Miller could attract a fee of around £6m. This figure would likely be double if Miller was English and plying his trade in the second division in England. The trajectory for the player is going in one way and his temperament for his age is mightily impressive.
