WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Blues this afternoon.
The 31-year-old centre-back was set to be out of contract this summer, however, the player has now signed on until the end of the 2025/2026 campaign. Chelsea also hold an option to extend the arrangement by a further year.
Bright joined Chelsea ahead of the 2015 FAWSL season. She has since gone on to make 280 appearances for the South West Londoners in all competitions. In her time with The Blues, the defender has won eight domestic titles, five Adobe Women’s FA Cups, two Subway Women’s League Cups and the FA Women’s Community Shield. Bright was also a UEFA Women’s Champions League runner-up with the club.
The England international is a Chelsea legend and her journey will continue for at least another 12 months.
After signing on again with The Blues, Bright said “Representing this club and continuing our journey together was never a question to me. This club is my home. Chelsea runs through me. The legacy continues…”
Bright could next feature for Chelsea when they face Crystal Palace in the Adobe Women’s FA Cup quarter-finals on Sunday afternoon.
