Chelsea Keeping Eyes On This Rising Parma Talent: What Will He Bring? | OneFootball

According to a report by talkSPORT, Chelsea are keeping tabs on Parma goalkeeper Zion Suzuki. The Premier League club are considering making a move to acquire his services but are expected to face stiff competition from Manchester United.

Who is Zion Suzuki?

Zion Suzuki joined Parma in the summer of 2024 Sint-Truiden and has established himself as a mainstay in the squad. Despite his team’s struggles in the ongoing season, he has been a standout performer, attracting eyeballs from all over the world.

Suzuki has managed to keep three clean sheets in 19 outings while leaking 30 goals. However, the numbers doesn’t justify the maginificient work he has done between the sticks.

The Japanese goalkeeper commands his area well, has quick reflexes and strong hands. He is capable of stopping both short and long range shoots. He is also comfortable with the ball and can send accurate long passess to initate attacks.

Chelsea unhappy with their goalkeepers

Chelsea are reportedly with their both goalkeepers, Robert Sanchez and Filip Jorgensen. They signed them in the summer window and expected to solidify their goalpost. However, the club isn’t convinced with either of them and feels they lack quality for long-term security.

The Blues have recently scouted Zion Suzuki and are left impressed with his progress. The English club believe that the youngster has the potential to mark an era as a goalkeeper. The fact that he commands his area nicely is well appreciated by the scout members.

Interestingly, Suzuki had a chance to move to Old Trafford in the summer but he decided against joining them. It remains to be seen if the 22-year-old will be keen on joining Chelsea or not. For now, the deal seems far away and might not actually get materialized.
