Pablo Barrios came through Atletico Madrid academy and made his senior team debut in 2022. He was promoted to the main squad permanently the next year and earned a starting position in the squad. He continues to impress everyone with his talent.

Barrios has featured for 1800 minutes this season so far distributed across 24 games. He is averaging 1 shot, 0.9 key passes, and 0.8 dribbles per game (stats via whoscored).
The Spanish player is a typical box-to-box midfield, adding a lot of value in the middle of the park. He positions himself intelligently to cut down the spaces. He is a good carrier of the ball and has the ability to initiate an attack at any moment.
Though Chelsea have a solid pairing of Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo in the middle of the park, they do lack quality when it comes to backup. Hence, their pursuit of Pablo Barrios makes sense as he can prove to be a key man for Enzo Maresca.
Barrios is proving himself in La Liga and he is bound to have a bright future ahead. He has all the qualities to succeed in the Premier League and earn a reputation for himself. However, signing him won’t be easy for the Blues.
Atletico Madrid aren’t keen on selling the 21-year-old anytime soon. It means that Chelsea will have to offer a lucrative deal to change the mind of the Spanish outfit. Moreover, it remains to be seen if the player is willing to switch the club at this stage of his career or not.
