Chelsea are interested in signing Dean Huijsen from Bournemouth in the summer, while Bayern Munich have asked to be informed on the defender’s situation.
Huijsen has been a huge hit since signing for Bournemouth from Juventus in the summer. The 19-year-old has been a crucial part of Bournemouth’s unbeaten run, that commenced with the defender’s introduction into the side.
Andoni Iraola’s side have not lost since Huijsen and centre-back Illya Zabarnyi first played together 10 games ago. No Premier League team has conceded fewer goals than Bournemouth in that time (8).
Huijsen’s performances have included goals in crucial wins over Spurs and Manchester United, as the Cherries have moved into contention for Champions League qualification. He impressed in Saturday’s 5-0 win over Nottingham Forest, a result that leaves Bournemouth just a point outside the top four.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea ‘really appreciate’ the Spain u-21 international, while Bayern Munich have enquired into the conditions of a future deal.
Huijsen is understood to have an unspecified release clause in the contract he signed last summer. The clause will become valid at the end of the current campaign and Bournemouth could bank a large profit on their initial investment of around £12m.
