Roma manager Claudio Ranieri previewed the Giallorossi’s upcoming Europa League showdown with AZ Alkmaar.
The veteran technician attended today’s press conference after the team landed in Holland earlier in the afternoon.
“I am confident ahead of tomorrow. I see the team doing well,” he said. “Of course I respect AZ Alkmaar. They play 90 minutes of relentless football, constantly attacking the ball.”
“It will be a difficult game but we will try to play the way we do as always.”
“It’s an important match against a difficult opponent,” he added. “We will try to give our all.”
“Objectives? I know Roma. I know this environment. It is better to promise work hard and make sacrifices in order to make the fans happy. One should never make promises if he doesn’t intend to keep them.”
“We have two big away games ahead of us. We all know how important Europa League is. I always think about the first game I have to face, then the second one.”
“Rensch’s signing? I am very happy with Rensch, he is a good player both in attack and defense, with good tactical intelligence, the kind of player we were looking for.”
“Pisilli? He is a force of nature, the kind of player I am crazy about.”
