Theo Hernandez has been a cult hero at Milan but this season has been a rough one. Contract talks haven’t gone according to plan and it looks likely that they could let him go for free when his contract expires in 2026.

As per calciomercato’s Daniele Longo, fans and those at the club are losing patience with the French left back. However, Milan seem to have identified a replacement for him – Club Brugge’s Maxim de Cuyper. The 24-year-old Belgian has been scouted by the Rossoneri and other big clubs for his great performances over the last couple of years.

He scored in the Champions League Round of 16 last week against Aston Villa. Milan reportedly have been following him since three years ago, when his skills going forward caught their eye while he was on loan at Westerlo. They would have to be cautious though, with memories of the deal of Charles De Ketelaere still fresh in their memories. Club Brugge are notoriously hard to deal with in these negotiations and are expected to ask for €22m-€25m for De Cuyper.Kaulik Mitra | GIFN
