Real Betis have intensified talks with Manchester United to sign Antony during the winter transfer window, according to ABC Sevilla (page 61).

The Brazil international has been a fringe player for the Red Devils this campaign, and he has managed only one goal from 400 minutes in all competitions.

Antony came on as a second-half substitute in the recent win against Southampton. He was unconvincing and missed a clear-cut opportunity to find the net.

The 24-year-old has given the green light to join Betis on loan this winter, and ABC Sevilla claim the Spanish club have intensified their efforts to land him.

The club are keen on securing a deal for the right-sided winger, and they have made a renewed loan offer. United would still have to pay the majority of his wages.

The Red Devils reportedly want playing time guarantee from the La Liga outfit so that his market value can be recovered ahead of the summer transfer window.

Antony could be heading for loan exit

The former Ajax man has been hugely disappointing in a United shirt. He has managed only 17 goal contributions from 95 appearances in all competitions.

He is clearly out-of-favour under manager Ruben Amorim. Antony has largely featured as a substitute. This could pave the way for his temporary departure.

Betis recently sanctioned the sale of Assane Diao to Como. They seem prepared to hand minutes to Antony, who could get the chance to revive his career.

It could be a positive for the player and United. Antony has the opportunity to play regularly and find his prime form from his time with Ajax in the Eredivisie.

United could also benefit from the same. They could demand a reasonable transfer fee this summer if he were to make a big impact for Manuel Pellegrini’s side.
