Sergio Conceicao spoke to the media earlier today ahead of AC Milan’s clash against Como. Among other things, he discussed potential formation changes, such as a three-man backline and playing with two strikers.

Tomorrow’s clash is very important for Milan who, after the win against Lecce, must continue down a positive path. Conceicao made it clear during his presser that it will be a difficult clash, while Como manager Cesc Fabregas basically said the same thing.

Towards the end of the presser, Conceicao was also asked about the formation and potential changes in the coming weeks. One reporter asked about a three-man backline to push Theo Hernandez further up, while another asked Santiago Gimenez and Tammy Abraham playing together.

A three-man backline to allow Theo to attack?

“I can’t cut off his attacking abilities, I have to work to find a balance. We are working to give him balance like in Lecce, where he provided assists and showed his qualities. He can be decisive in the last thirty meters.”

Can Gimenez play with Abraham?

“It depends on the match and the strategy I have for the match. I like to play with two references in front, but starting like this from the beginning, I don’t think so.”

The game is scheduled for 18:00 CET and a big crowd is expected at San Siro to cheer on the Rossoneri. The Champions League train may have left the situation, but Milan still need to play for a spot in the Europa League.
