There also remains the possibility of major silverware for Manchester City this season as they await their date in the FA Cup Final at Wembley Stadium with Crystal Palace the opponents on Saturday 17 May.
As for their latest set of opponents in the Premier League this weekend, Southampton have already had their fate sealed and will be playing in the EFL Championship once again from next season.
Manchester City know that victory will put them within touching distance of UEFA Champions League qualification for next season, and a place in the top-five could be secured as early as this weekend depending on results elsewhere.

The West Sussex official will be taking charge of his 23rd match of the season across all competitions, having issued 99 yellow cards and one second yellow card, with two red cards and three penalties awarded.
Robinson has only taken charge of one Manchester City match in his officiating career, with that outing coming in December of last season in a 1-2 away victory for Pep Guardiola’s side at Kenilworth Road against Luton Town.

Accompanying Tim Robinson out on the pitch at St Mary’s this weekend will be an Assistant Referee pairing of Tim Wood and Steve Meredith, the Premier League have confirmed this week.
