Connah’s Quay Nomads win top-two clash 5-2 after going 2-0 down

Connah’s Quay Nomads won 5-2 in the Genero Adran League North top-of-the-table clash after trailing 2-0 to hosts Llandudno.

Adran Premier

Barry Town United 0-0 Briton Ferry Llansawel (Att: 92) Swansea City 3-1 Aberystwyth Town (Att: 118) Cardiff City 4-1 Wrexham Cardiff Met 1-2 The New Saints (Att: 112)

Cardiff City stayed top by two points when beating Wrexham 4-1. Laura Curnock, a Ffion Price penalty and Mikayla Cook had them three up, Ava Suckley pulled a goal back but Lily Billingham added a late fourth.

Second-placed TNS have already bettered their points tally from phase one last season, after a narrow win at Cardiff Met. Olivia Buckland and Helen Evans gave The New Saints a 2-0 lead, Faith Mulenga giving the Archers hope with a 75th-minute reply.

Swansea City sent Aberystwyth Town to a 3-1 defeat and lead fourth-placed Barry by four points now after they were held at home to Briton Ferry. Nia Jones and Jessica Williams struck early for the Swans, Rebecca Mathias netted for Aber but Aimee Deacon got a third for City.

Adran North

Flint Town United 4-1 Felinheli Bangor 1-1 NFA Llandudno 2-5 Connah’s Quay Nomads (Att: 68) Rhyl 2-3 Llanfair United (Att: 48)

Connah’s Quay Nomads came from behind to make it five wins from five, with a 5-2 victory in the top-two meeting at Llandudno. Rebecca Jarvis-Evans and Erin Doran scored in the opening seven minutes for the hosts, Ella Jones and Polly Wild-McGregor each bagged a brace for the Nomads and Anais Bathily got their fifth.

Llanfair United moved level on points with Llandudno after winning 3-2 at Rhyl. Paris Schofield struck first, Sade Benjamin equalised but Harriet Davies and Sophie Cook put Llanfair 3-1 up and Rebecca Bannister converted a late penalty for Rhyl.

Zoe Stopford scored all four goals for Flint in their defeat of Felinheli, who had scored first through Llywela Edwards.

NFA got off the mark with a 1-1 draw at Bangor with an Amy Webster goal, Georgia Owen-Lewis denying them all three points with an 87th-minute leveller.

Adran South

Penybont 0-2 Cwmbran Celtic (Att: 48) Pontypridd United 1-2 Cascade (Att: 56) Caldicot Town 0-1 Swansea University (Att: 20)

Cwmbran Celtic moved top of the table with a 2-0 win at Penybont, where Jade Crofts’ effort was followed up by Lauren Boyd’s penalty in first-half stoppage time.

Pontypridd United dropped points for the first time, beaten 2-1 at home by Cascade, even though Lauren Payne had them ahead after only 4 minutes. Ellis Lunn soon equalised and then grabbed a 32nd-minute decider.

Swansea University Ellie Raggett got the game’s only goal at Caldicot in just the third minute.
