Pep Guardiola says City have no fresh injury concerns ahead of our FA Cup final against Crystal Palace.

The Blues will travel to Wembley with the same options that were available against Southampton last weekend.

When asked about the fitness of his players, Guardiola responded: “No, it’s the same as last week.”

Inevitably, with Ballon d’Or winner Rodri back in training and building his fitness up, the boss was asked whether the Spanish anchorman might make a surprise return against Palace.

And while the news is positive, Guardiola is not prepared to take any unnecessary risks.

“He is much, much better,” said Pep.

“I will, speak to doctors. When he is ready, he will start. We don't want to tackle a step back now.”

And with crucial games against Palace and the Bournemouth on Tuesday, the topic of whether Kevin De Bruyne could feature in both matches was raised at Pep’s Friday press conference.

But he refused to think any further ahead than Saturday’s showpiece event, saying: “I am thinking just about tomorrow’s game.

“We then have a final on Tuesday against Bournemouth. We pick the team that is best to beat them.”

City and Palace met just six weeks ago in a game that swing the Eagles’ way initially, then the Blues’.

Palace raced into a 2-0 lead and then had a marginal offside deny them a 3-0 first-half lead before City roared back to win 5-2.

Guardiola says he was happy with his team’s overall display that day, but argued his team hadn’t been sluggish in the opening half-hour.

“We did not start slow,” he said.

“But one set piece and one action we did not defend well. But before that we were good.

“It was a good performance when we played them. Apart from 0-2 at the beginning, we won in the end.”

And on City’s 33,000-plus travelling support, the boss added: “We want to win for our fans. The guys who travel, I want to say thank you for coming to London.

“Winning is much better than losing, but last year we came into having won four in a row and maybe our mind was not perfect.

“But one year later we are there again.”
