Chivas Femenil secured their ticket to the Liguilla for the Clausura 2025 and will arrive at the end of the championship in a strong position, in which they will be looking to finish in one of the top four places in the standings, which would allow them to close the Quarterfinals at home.
It has been weeks of hard work for the Rojiblanco team, in which they have been able to reinvent themselves with the premise of achieving the objectives they set at the beginning of the season. But if there is one thing that must be recognized in Antonio Contreras' team, it is the solidity they have achieved at a collective level, which translates into a concrete statistic: being the best defense in the CL25.
The road has not been at all easy for the Rebaño Sagrado, which has overcome intense duels in which it has made the most of its impeccable work without the ball, allowing only 9 goals so far in the championship. But it doesn't end there, as the team has kept an unbeaten goal in 7 of the 15 matches this season, which means that in practically half of the CL25 matches they have finished with a clean sheet.
This has also led to 29 points so far, which are distributed in 13 of the 15 matches they have played. We must also mention that Chiverío is experiencing its best defensive performance since AP22, when it reached Matchday 15 with the same 9 goals allowed and only conceded one more before the end of the Regular Phase.
A total of 10 defenders have appeared in Chivas Femenil's back line and none of them have failed to stand out, but there is one name that stands out from the rest: Damaris Godínez, who has started every game this semester, either at fullback or center back, and is the player with the most minutes in the squad.
So good has been the performance of Guadalajara's lower midfield that three of its players have been selected by the Tricolor for the March FIFA Date: Blanca Felix and Celeste Espino will defend the national goal at the senior level, while Isabela Esquivias will do the same with the U-23 jersey.
