While many claim he already has one foot outside the door, Cristiano Ronaldo is reportedly plotting a reunion with Casemiro at Al-Nassr.

The 39-year-old ended his underwhelming second stint at Manchester United on a poor note following an ugly row with the hierarchy and Erik ten Hag, before becoming the first major superstar to join the Saudi Pro League.

CR7 landed in the Arabic kingdom in January 2023, opening the floodgates for a host of top-notch footballers who followed in his footsteps in the ensuing summer, the likes of Neymar Jr, Karim Benzema and Riyad Mahrez.

However, the Portuguese’s contract with Al-Nassr will expire in June, and he’s currently being linked with a switch to their domestic rivals Al-Hilal.

And yet, the Daily Mail reports that the five-time Ballon d’Or has urged his current employers to sign his old friend and teammate Casemiro in January.

The two players played side by side for several years at Real Madrid, winning a host of trophies in the process, including three Champions League triumphs in a row. They were briefly reunited at Old Trafford when the Brazilian made the £60m move in the summer of 2022, but their collaboration was less fruitful on the English shores.

Nevertheless, Ronaldo would reportedly love to rekindle his partnership with the midfield enforcer on Saudi soil. The latter is being heavily linked with the exit door after looking out-of-sorts in some of his recent appearances this season, including the home contests against Liverpool and Newcastle United.

Therefore, this could be the ideal time for the 32-year-old to embark on a new experience in a less competitive league, as his best days are apparently behind him, while United would be happy to offload their highest earner.

Aside from Al-Nassr, fellow Saudi Pro League sides Al-Qadsiah and Al-Ittihad are also interested in the services of the Brazil international.
