Diego Simeone reveals the vulnerabilities of Hansi Flick’s Barcelona | OneFootball

There are some rivals for FC Barcelona that have proven to be a hurdle again and again. One such opponent is Atletico Madrid, particularly ever since Diego Simeone took charge of the club back in 2011. For Barcelona, they have easily been one of the more troublesome hurdles to deal with over the years.

As a result of that difficulty, every game between the two sides always tends to invite a lot of excitement and anticipation. For Hansi Flick, however, this will be his first time coaching Barcelona against Simeone’s men, and it is expected to be an entertaining match to watch.

Ahead of the encounter, as highlighted by Mundo Deportivo, Diego Simeone took the chance to speak about Barcelona and complimented the work and style of play that they currently have, something that he has already admitted to being a fan of previously as well:

“We’re up against a team that plays very well. I admire their youthful midfielders who excel with the ball, and Raphinha, who is one of the best in LaLiga for his bravery and style of play. We have our own strengths to make this an entertaining match.”

However, Simeone also believes that his own team has the quality to exploit their opponents:

“We’ve been talking about this for the past month and a half. The team is working well as a unit and seeks to exploit areas where we believe we can harm our opponents.”

Moreover, the Argentinian coach also highlighted the vulnerabilities of this Barcelona team that are created due to the way they play:

“Barcelona’s style creates scoring opportunities due to how they play. It depends on how clinical their opponents are. They press high, limit your decision-making time, and flood your half with players to dominate. They play very well.”

Only time will tell which side ends up emerging victorious from this game, but Diego Simeone seems confident enough in his team’s quality. However, Hansi Flick will also be looking to make sure that his Barcelona players can turn things around following some frustrating results.
