Enzo Maresca loves Wesley Fofana and believes Chelsea are a different team with him in it according to journalist Matt Law.
After missing the entire of last season with an ACL injury Fofana has managed to feature more regularly this season, but has still been plagued by injury.
The France international is part of Maresca’s first choice defensive pairing with Levi Colwill, but he’s only managed to make 14 appearances this campaign.
Fofana is out for the rest of the season after undergoing successful surgery, and there’s been talk Chelsea could be open to selling.
Marseille have been linked with Fofana, and when fit it’s arguable he’s Chelsea’s best centre back, but he’s got to work on his fitness.
Fofana joined from Leicester in the summer of 2022 for £70m with a further £5m in add ons, but in three seasons he’s managed just 34 appearances.

However, despite his lack of availability Law has revealed Maresca “absolutely loves” Fofana and feels the Blues are a different team with him in it.
“Enzo absolutely loves Fofana,” he told The London Is Blue Podcast.
“He rates him so, so highly and he thinks that Chelsea are a different team with Fofana in it.
“Enzo does absolutely adore him. He’s literally in his top three favourite Chelsea players, I know that for a fact.”
Despite Maresca’s love of Fofana the Blues are in the market for another centre back and there’s set to be a big reshuffle in that department this summer.
Renato Veiga, Axel Disasi and Trevoh Chalobah are all candidates to leave, whilst the Blues have been linked with several names.
