Everybody is at risk following the historically bad first half of the season that culminated in a humiliating late defeat to Como on Sunday night.
The Friedkins made it loud and clear that they are dissatisfied with this kind of trend and are willing to adopt drastic measures in January in order to turn things arond.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the American owners are not kidding: there is serious consideration of parting ways with players that have been at the club longer than others but have failed to transmit the necessary mentality to the team.
Among them, the first in line are Paulo Dybala and Lorenzo Pellegrini.
The two footballers are the highest earners at the club and no longer deemed untouchable.
But not only them, because the entire old guard has ended up in the sights of the ownership, which also means Cristante, Mancini, El Shaarawy and Paredes.
To which must be added the new ones who are not performing as expected: Hermoso, Zalewski, Shomurodov, Celik and Baldanzi.
Roma wants to try to sell them in January. The real problem, however, is the very heavy salaries, difficult to cover elsewhere.
For Dybala (8 million plus one in bonuses) they will try to reconnect with Saudi Arabia, hoping that this time the Joya decides to move.
Otherwise they will wait until June, when Dybala could decide to go to Boca Juniors together with Paredes (4 million salary) or maybe to the United States, to Miami, which is a bit like his home.
Pellegrini (5 million plus one in bonuses) is instead liked by Galatasaray, who would also be ready to evaluate a January signing. Only the Roma captain does not want to move at the moment.
