Eintracht Frankfurt and RB Leipzig enter race to sign Jobe Bellingham

Borussia Dortmund’s pursuit of Jobe Bellingham may be hampered by two direct Bundesliga competitors. Sport Bild reports that both Eintracht Frankfurt and RB Leipzig are also interested in the England U21 international. Eintracht – provided they secure Champions League qualification – are thought to have solid cards.
Eintracht must prepare to compensate for the expected departure of young midfield linchpin Hugo Larsson. For a time, the preferred candidate in German rumour mills appeared to be Mainz’s Nadiem Amiri. There are now some loose links suggesting that Dortmund may prefer Amiri to Bellingham and may try to outpace Frankfurt.
In any event, the chatter concerning who will go where means little until it can be confirmed which German clubs will qualify for the UCL. Sport Bild does note that Leipzig’s dim European prospects leave the German Red Bulls with only an outside chance.
Moreover, it remains to be seen whether or not Bellingham wishes to depart Sunderland at all. Much hinges on whether the Black Cats can secure promotion to the Premier League in the EFL playoff Final against Sheffield United on May 24th.
