Kauã Santos (21) is set to start a third successive Bundesliga game in goal for Eintracht Frankfurt after Kevin Trapp (34) suffered an injury setback.
Speaking at Thursday’s press conference ahead of Saturday’s Bundesliga game against Werder Bremen, SGE head coach Dino Toppmöller said: “Kevin noticed yesterday, during games on the full-size pitch, that he’s still having problems. Therefore, he’s out for the time being in Bremen. Kauã will be back in goal.”
With just seven league games remaining, BILD suggest that it’s quite possible that Trapp won’t feature again this season. “For us, it only makes sense when he’s at 100 percent. I can’t say when that will be, and the season isn’t that long anymore. I can’t give an indication as to how long it will take,” added Toppmöller.
Eintracht face Werder Bremen on Saturday before a Europa League Quarter-final against Tottenham Hotspur on Thursday.
