Enzo Le Fee is set to travel to Sunderland this afternoon to be put through a medical by the Black Cats as they close in on signing him from Italian giants Roma.
Sunderland boss Regis Le Bris has asked the club to bring in Le Fee this month and he looks set to get his wish.
The 24-year-old is coveted by several European outfits, with Real Betis, Sevilla and Lille among them, which has made Sunderland’s task all the harder.
However, Le Fee, who is a former player of Le Bris at Lorient, is open to reuniting with his former manager at Sunderland.
It is suggested that Sunderland have managed to strike a deal with the Italian giants for their target.
According to the French daily Le Parisien, Le Fee is due to travel to England for his medical with Sunderland this afternoon.
The Black Cats agreed to a deal with Roma to loan the French midfielder with an option to buy clause, which will turn into an obligation if they get up to the Premier League.
Now if all goes well, Le Fee will pen his deal with Sunderland after completing his medical and might be available for their weekend fixture against Stoke City in the FA Cup.
