Everton need to bolster their forward department in the January transfer window and they are checking on several options.

The Toffees have four strikers at the club, but the situation is such that they could be forced to sign a new striker before the transfer window closes.

After a promising start under David Moyes, Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin has suffered an injury blow. Likewise, Armando Broja and Youssef Chermiti are also on the treatment table and are not close to returning to action.

This leaves Beto as the only fit and available senior centre-forward at Goodison Park, but his future is far from certain. He has been heavily linked with a move to Italian clubs, and it’s not clear what the future holds for him.

Everton have been linked with a move for Brighton & Hove Albion striker Evan Ferguson, while Hamza Igamane and Brian Brobbey have been linked as well.

According to the latest report from the Liverpool Echo, Everton could move for West Ham striker Danny Ings.

The 32-year-old striker was signed by Moyes at West Ham two years ago, but he has not been able to make a strong impact at the London Stadium.

The report claims that Ings would be Blues’ obvious ‘last resort’ option.

Ings joined the Hammers from Aston Villa, who had paid £30million for his services. He is a vastly experienced striker who has scored 127 club goals in his career.

A move for Ings is highly unlikely. West Ham are going through a crisis in their forward department, and they are unlikely to sell Ings without signing a replacement.

Ings has made just one start in the Premier League, and a further 12 appearances have come from the bench. He has scored one goal and provided two assists this season.

The former Liverpool striker could be a smart option, but Everton may find it difficult to lure him away from West Ham in the final few days of the January window.
