Some structural damage was caused, but fortunately nothing significant, but with the safety of the supporters and players at stake, the right call was made in the end.

Some supporters were aggrieved

Some supporters were aggrieved, not by the call off itself, but the timing of it. With folk travelling from Ireland and England, and even further afield you can only sympathise with their grievance. The club made the call this morning just after 10am when maybe they could have just called it yesterday.

Whatever your opinion, the call to postpone the fixture has been made, and the game has been re-scheduled to be played on Wednesday night, 5th February with a 7.45pm kick off, and that could prove to be a blessing in disguise.

Celtic can focus on the midweek trip to Birmingham

After a gruelling run of fixtures this month, and last Wednesday’s energy sapping win over Young Boys, the players could do with the chance to put their feet up and avoid the risk of picking up any niggling injuries.

It also gives us the chance to focus on the midweek trip to Birmingham to face Aston Villa in the UEFA Champions League and for Brendan o work with his players on a revised game-plan now that both Kyogo and Daizen Maeda will be be playing against Aston Villa.
