Manchester United battled fiercely to secure a well-earned Premier League draw against Arsenal in a tense showdown at Old Trafford on Sunday.
A majestic free-kick strike from captain Bruno Fernandes gave Man United an unexpected lead on the stroke of half-time.
The hosts carved out better chances to score but Declan Rice brought the scores level with a superb long-range effort.
While Fernandes and Casemiro grabbed the headlines, it was Noussair Mazraoui who quietly stole the show with a flawless all-round performance.
The 27-year-old was involved in United’s key attacking opportunities.
He orchestrated three chances and completed 100% of his dribbles.
He nearly put United 2-0 ahead with a brilliant side-footed volley, only to be denied by an extraordinary reflex save from Arsenal shot-stopper David Raya.
Diogo Dalot delivered a delightful cross into the box, perfectly setting up Mazraoui, whose well-timed strike looked destined for the net before Raya’s heroics.
Deep into stoppage time, Mazraoui conjured up another golden opportunity, picking out Fernandes with a pinpoint cross.
He played a cross to the Portuguese maestro whose first-time strike was cleared off the goal line.
He also made three clearances and two interceptions to ensure United take a point home.
The £27 million-rated ace has been a superb addition to the United squad.
Not only has he been rock-solid defensively, but he has also showcased his adaptability, seamlessly slotting into five different positions this season.
He is most effective as a right centre-back, but with Amad Diallo injured and Patrick Dorgu suspended, he has been reinstated as a wing-back.
