Het Nieuwsblad are reporting that Club Brugge defender Dedryck Boyata has been sent to train with Club NXT, the sides youth development squad that plays in the Belgian second tier. The 33-year-old has been out of the picture with the side for some time but they were unable to find a solution during the recent transfer window. As a result, the former Celtic, Manchester City and Hertha Berlin man no longer trains with the first team.

Boyata, a former Belgian international, joined Club Brugge back in 2022 from Hertha Berlin for around €1.4m. Boyata signed a contract until 2025 but has so far only made 26 appearances for the club. He featured only five times in the league last season and has not been included in a match for this campaign yet.

Whether or not a solution will be found to the Boyata situation remains to be seen, as clearly there have been issues over wages from potential suitors compared to what he has been earning with his current side.
