Chelsea legend Frank Lampard may well look to do some shopping at his former club should be get the vacant manager job at Coventry.
The former Blues midfielder and manager is one of the leading candidates to take the role and is going to be interviewed for the position very soon, according to The Telegraph.
Lampard has been out of a job for some time now and has been biding his time before jumping back into management. It seems that he fancies dropping down a league again to sort of start again with his coaching aspirations I guess.
Coventry recently moved their manager on, and now Lampard is in the frame to take it the vacant position. We will have to wait and see if he gets the role.
However, if he does get it, I can see him calling up his friends at Chelsea asking to perhaps take a player on loan in the January window, or maybe even negotiate a permanent new signing from them. A loan is much more likely.
Tyrique George has had good experience in Chelsea’s first team
I can see Lampard knocking on the door to take someone like young rising star Tyrique George on loan from Chelsea.
There is also a situation with Josh Acheampong right now with him being frozen out by the club after failing to agree a new contract for now. Something could develop there.
Midfielder Leo Castledine is also highly rated and he could be looked at by Lampard to come in and help.
And then there is Harvey Vale, who had great experience on loan with Bristol Rovers last season, he would surely do a good job in the championship. I can see a loan to buy deal perhaps being looked at there.
We will have to wait and see what happens with all of this.
