Girona is entrusted to Montilivi to get back to winning ways

Although the dynamic of results is not good, Girona already left the Santiago Bernabéu with better feelings and wants to transfer them now on the scoreboard against Celta to rediscover the path of the three points. Míchel Sánchez's men will rely on Montilivi's thrust against Celta, who are in a good moment of form. The Galicians won last week at home against Osasuna, and in the last trip they got a point at the Metropolitano. Tenth with 32 points, they are also in the fight for Europe, despite their poor away record. They have not won in all of 2025, and have gone eight games without a win from three, with two draws and six defeats. In fact, they have only been able to win in one of the twelve away games they have played this season, against Las Palmas.

Celta's own names

At the helm of Celta is Claudio Giráldez, who took over at the end of last season and is now in charge of his first full season. In a critical sporting situation, he managed to turn the group around after the dismissal of Rafa Benítez by moving up from the reserve team, and his good work has allowed him to continue in a first team that he has managed to make play with criteria and courage. In its ranks it has outstanding names with a long career in the professional world. Vicente Guaita is the usual goalkeeper, in the defense the ex-Bulls Mingueza and Marcos Alonso stand out as attacking full backs, Ilaix Moriba acts as a counterpoint to the talented Fran Beltran, and up front they have a lot of gunpowder: Iago Aspas is the captain and the reference player for his ability to generate danger, and with eight goals he is also the top scorer. He is followed by Borja Iglesias with five, a constant threat in the area. The young Pablo Durán, from the youth academy, has scored four goals and has also earned a place in the attacking ranks.
