Paris Saint-Germain and Stade Brestois faced off on Saturday night in a preview of their upcoming UEFA Champions League knockout playoff tie, with the Parisians coming away with a 5-2 win at Stade Francis Le Blé.

Toward the end of the contest, the capital club needed an insurance goal as the contest was still 3-2 with Ousmane Dembélé providing the hat-trick performance. Nonetheless, it was Gonçalo Ramos’ brace that provided breathing room for the squad.

On the first goal, Désiré Doué stayed on his feet and burst down the right on a quick counterattack. It seemed he held onto the ball for too long, but he managed to find Ramos, who only had to tap it in.

Then, on the second goal, the Portuguese player had tried to set up a teammate, but after a tackle from Brest, the ball came back to him and he scored himself.

After the match, PSG manager Luis Enrique spoke about the performance he saw from the squad in the victory.

“I had a great time, honestly,” Enrique said (h/t Canal Supporters). “It was an exceptional match with two teams giving their all. Playing against Brest is always tough. Even with a two-goal lead, they can still be a real threat. We’re happy with the result and now it’s all about focusing on the next matches.

“Is the team improving? Definitely, but it’s clear we’re on an extremely positive run. Of course, over the course of a season, there will be tougher moments, some ups and downs. But the team is staying consistent, with players who are contributing, giving their best, and making the most of their opportunities.”
