Liverpool travel to face Paris Saint-Germain at the Parc des Princes in the first leg of the Champions League Round of 16 tonight.
The two sides have only met twice before, in the 2018 Champions League group stage, with Liverpool winning 3-2 at Anfield before losing 2-1 in Paris.
Liverpool come into this game in great form. The Reds are 13 points clear at the top of the Premier League table and they finished first in the league phase of the Champions League. They won their first seven matches in the competition before a weakened side suffered defeat against PSV Eindhoven in their final game.
Here’s what you need to know ahead of the clash…

PSG: None
PSG had a full squad for their 4-1 victory over Lille in Ligue 1 on Saturday. Joao Neves and Kang-in Lee had been doubts but both took part in that match.
Liverpool: Joe Gomez (out), Conor Bradley (out), Cody Gakpo (doubt)
Cody Gakpo returned from injury to make appearances off the bench in each of Liverpool’s last two. However he was absent from training yesterday and manager Arne Slot revealed in his press conference that the forward has travelled but his involvement ‘will be a close call’.
PSG (4-3-3): Donnarumma; Hakimi, Marquinhos, Pacho, Mendes; Neves, Vitinha, Ruiz; Kvaratskhelia, Dembele, Barcola
Liverpool (4-2-3-1): Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Konate, van Dijk, Robertson; Gravenberch, Mac Allister; Salah, Szoboszlai, Diaz; Jota
PSG have been in impressive form of late. After a poor start in the Champions League, a 4-2 victory from behind against Man City was a turning point in their campaign. They cruised through their qualifying game for the round of 16, demolishing fellow French side Stade Brestois by a staggering 10-0 aggregate scoreline. January recruit Khvicha Kvaratskhelia has starred for the Parisians alongside Ousmane Dembele who has found form. Young attackers Bradley Barcola and Desire Doue have also impressed.
Liverpool’s winning has been relentless this season. The Reds sailed through the league phase of the Champions League and only dropped points once their top spot had already been secured. They have comfortably been the best team in England this season and already have one hand on the Premier League trophy. Mohamed Salah has been unstoppable and will likely be decisive again if Liverpool are to succeed in the French capital.
PSG boss Luis Enrique on Liverpool: “After the Jurgen Klopp era it could have been difficult for Slot to do better. But he has managed to create a perfect team- one that knows how to press, defend and attack. They are a very complete team.
“They have three fighter planes flying in attack. Stopping these fighter planes is not easy.”
The hosts’ midfielder Joao Neves: “They have a lot of individual quality… but as a team we are better.”
Liverpool manager Arne Slot: “Both teams are facing a strong opponent, not only us but them as well.
“It is clear that Luis Enrique has done a great job here. In my opinion this team is better than the one he managed last season.”
The visitors’ Wataru Endo: “It is going to be. Tough game but everyone is excited to play against them.
