Ollie Scarles is cementing himself as a key player in Graham Potter’s West Ham side this season.

The Academy of Football graduate has been in fine form, with his latest appearance an eye-catching one once again, as West Ham claimed a huge win away to Arsenal at the weekend.

“It was such a brilliant performance from start to end from the boys,” Scarles told the clubs Official Website. “We got the goal and defended so well to keep the clean sheet.

“It’s a tough place to come, they [Arsenal] are fighting for the Premier League title. They’re second in the table, and to come here and get all three points is amazing.”

Scarles is becoming more and more a key figure in the Potter system at West Ham, with the boss admitting he’s delighted with the left-backs progression from the clubs Academy.

“I’m grateful for all the minutes I’ve had so far, coming off the bench.,” added Scarles. “But to get a start and then to put in a performance like that with the boys and get all three points, I couldn’t ask for any more.

“It was tough. I was feeling my legs at the end, but we all got through it, and it was about sticking together.”
