FC Barcelona started their Copa del Rey 2024-25 campaign with a win against UD Barbastro last night. The Catalans scored four goals in this game, and hopefully, this performance will help the team overturn their trend of poor results from the last few weeks.
Two of these four goals were scored by the Polish striker Robert Lewandowski after Eric Garcia opened the scoring in the 21st minute. Pablo Torre also got on the scoresheet and thus continues to take full advantage of the limited opportunities that have been afforded to him by Hansi Flick this season.
With this latest performance, the Spaniard has got 4 goals and 3 assists to his name this season. Furthermore, as Mundo Deportivo has reported, he also talked to the media after the game, and expressed his happiness with the result and his performance while still showing hunger for more:
“I am very happy with the opportunity to contribute to the team, but we must keep going. I’m not satisfied with anything.”
The young midfielder was now already thinking about the Spanish Super Cup: “These are matches that can get complicated, but we managed to resolve it quickly and well. We had to go all out. Now, we are already thinking about Arabia.”
Torre made it clear that he wants to get more playing opportunities going forward, irrespective of the position he plays in:
“I’m willing to play in any position because playing for Barça is great, and if you get opportunities, you’re obligated to make the most of them. I’m not satisfied with playing like today; I’m hungry for more.”
Pablo Torre put forward another strong case for more minutes going forward with this performance. It remains to be seen how Flick will utilize him in the coming weeks, but there is no doubt he can come in handy for Barcelona when the team needs goals.
