Injured Real Madrid defender will be available from next week – report | OneFootball

Real Madrid have received encouraging news regarding young defender Jacobo Ramon, with reports from AS (h/t Madrid Xtra) indicating that the 19-year-old will be ready to return to action next week.

This comes as a boost for the club, as Ramon has been limited to individual training sessions after a muscle injury sidelined him for some time.

Ramon, who plays as a centre-back for Real Madrid Castilla but has been involved with the first team since the start of the season, picked up the muscular problem a couple of weeks ago.

This injury forced him to miss two key fixtures: Real Madrid’s La Liga match against Real Sociedad and their UEFA Champions League encounter with Stuttgart. His absence left a noticeable gap in the team’s defensive options.

Limited options for Carlo Ancelotti

Due to Ramon’s injury, manager Carlo Ancelotti was left with limited options at the back. Only Antonio Rudiger was fully fit to feature as centre-back in the squad, as Eder Militao suffered to regain match fitness.

The situation was further complicated by Jesus Vallejo, another defensive option, who has been struggling with ongoing fitness issues since the summer.

With multiple key players unavailable, including David Alaba and Joan Martinez, the squad’s defensive depth was stretched to its limit.

Despite these challenges, Ancelotti chose not to call up Raul Asencio, another centre-back from Castilla, to reinforce the backline.

Instead, he opted to manage the situation with the available resources, relying heavily on Rudiger and Militao to cover the defensive duties during Ramon’s absence.

However, Ramon’s expected return next week will provide much-needed depth and relief to Ancelotti’s squad, particularly in the centre-back position.

The return of the young defender will be a welcome sight for Real Madrid, as the team continues to compete on multiple fronts this season. With the La Liga campaign well underway and the UEFA Champions League group stage matches already in progress, having a fully fit squad will be crucial for maintaining momentum and securing positive results.
