Eduardo Camavinga sustained his third injury of the 2024/25 season earlier this month, with the Real Madrid midfielder getting sidelined by a hamstring issue.
The French international sustained the injury during Los Blancos’ 5-2 (after extra time) win over Celta Vigo in the Copa del Rey, with reports suggesting he would be out for three weeks.
It meant that Camavinga’s availability for the derby against Atletico Madrid, on February 9th, was in doubt, although those within the club were optimistic about him returning in time for it.
In a major boost, though, Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti confirmed earlier today during his press conference that Camavinga is all set to return next week.
“The only thing missing is Camavinga, who will be available very soon, maybe next week,” said Ancelotti ahead of tomorrow’s game against Real Valladolid.

It means that the Frenchman will be back earlier than the three weeks that was initially reported, which will be a welcome boost for Los Blancos.
Camavinga was already back training on the pitch today, as he did individual work away from the rest of the group. The midfielder was seen running, sprinting, and working with the ball already, hinting that a return is not far away.
As such, the former Rennes wonderkid is expected to be at manager Ancelotti’s disposal again next week, although it remains to be seen if he is ready in time for the UEFA Champions League clash against Brest (Jan 29) or the La Liga clash vs. Espanyol (Feb 1).
Either way, Camavinga’s availability for the derby against Atletico Madrid next month appears to be guaranteed.
