Inter Milan stalwart Federico Dimarco addressed the press following a dismal 3-2 Supercoppa Italiana defeat last night.

Speaking to InterTV via FCInterNews, Dimarco stressed the importance of an immediate recovery.

Despite Marcus Thuram’s absence, Simone Inzaghi’s men were in pole position to defend the crown.

Moreover, the stage looked set for Inter to climb to the podium after only 47 minutes.

Indeed, Lautaro Martinez and Mehdi Taremi inspired the three-time consecutive champions to a landslide 2-0 lead.

However, AC Milan stunned the reigning Scudetto holders to waltz away with the prize.

Dimarco – subbed off midway through the second half – didn’t have the best game, especially given his high standard.

Nevertheless, he will continue to be the focal point of Inter’s gameplay when their Serie A campaign resumes this weekend.

The Nerazzurri head to Stadio Pier Luigi Penzo to take on newcomers Venezia in a must-win game on Sunday.

Federico Dimarco Urges Inter Milan to Bounce Back from Supercoppa Italiana Heartbreak

“What happened, we saw on the field,” Dimarco started.

“We cannot lose a match like this, but we have to bounce back strong because there are other objectives to achieve.

“We’ve won the last three Supercoppa titles in a row, and today we faced a strong opponent like Milan, to whom we extend our compliments.

“These defeats help you grow. There were chances on both sides; we could have closed it out at 2-0, but then they scored to make it 2-1.”

Dimarco then focused on a breathless second half.

“In matches like these, episodes make all the difference.

“They were better, and we need to move forward immediately, even though it hurts,” he continued.

“We are Inter, and we must get back up right away. This defeat can only be put behind us by winning.

“Starting on Sunday, we have to step onto the pitch with the determination to win,” Dimarco concluded.
