Inter Milan president Beppe Marotta recently confirmed the club’s intention to regain a protagonist role in the transfer market.
According to Corriere dello Sport via FCInter1908, Marotta’s statement showed Inter’s ambition to stay ahead of the curve.
Despite spending far less than many other Serie A title hopefuls, Inter remain unarguably the best team in Italy.
That’s largely thanks to Beppe Marotta and his financial prowess.
Indeed, the veteran executive has based his transfer strategy on low-cost, albeit high-impact signings.
Marotta’s shrewd moves have often seen Inter sign top players without splashing out massive figures.
For instance, Hakan Calhanoglu, Marcus Thuram, and Piotr Zielinski have arrived on free transfers.
However, Oaktree Capital’s idea is to focus on young blood.
Inter arranged Petar Sucic’s arrival from Dinamo Zagreb in January.
However, it could be the club’s first signing under this new policy.

Indeed, Inter will no longer pursue experienced stars. Instead, they’ll aim to add fresh legs to Simone Inzaghi’s squad.
Como starlet Nico Paz fits the bill, even though the Nerazzurri would need to beat Real Madrid to his signature.
However, Marotta and his associates won’t back down.
“In short, following Oaktree’s strategy, the Inter of the future will be younger while remaining ambitious and highly competitive,” the analysis read.
“The 21-year-old Sucic is the first step in this direction, and the same approach will be applied to other signings.
“But above all, there’s one dream: Nico Paz. The Como gem has captivated everyone at Pinetina and Viale Liberazione.
“A preferential channel exists through Zanetti and his relationship with the player’s father.
“However, the deal is highly complex, as Real Madrid still holds control over Paz, and Como itself has strong financial backing.
“Yet, Marotta’s words suggest that Inter is not setting any limits on their ambitions.
