Mehdi Taremi faces criticism for producing “one great moment and then nothing” in yesterday’s Serie A clash between Juventus and Inter Milan.
Today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCinterNews, criticize the 32-year-old for a “disappointing” performance, particularly on one counterattacking move.
Striker Mehdi Taremi got a rare opportunity to start in a big Serie A match yesterday.
With Marcus Thuram still recovering from an ankle problem, the Frenchman was not available from the start. Therefore, it was Taremi who got the nod.
Mehdi Taremi did start the match brightly enough. The Iranian international worked hard to get on the ball and impact play.
And then there was one instance where Taremi came very close to the spectacular.

The former Porto striker came close to scoring with an acrobatic overhead kick during the first half.
However, Taremi’s effort there was just wide.
And after that, the Iranian was unable to really find space in the penalty area.
Then, there was a counterattacking chance where Mehdi Taremi failed to pick out teammate Lautaro Martinez.
That proved to be very costly in the end.
Had the Iranian made more out of his forward run, then the result could have been very different for Inter.
