One of Manchester City’s most important players, Ruben Dias, has missed the last month of football. Without him, Pep Guardiola’s side have gone on a six-game winless run. It is clear to see that the world champions have missed the presence of their defensive leader.

The Portuguese international has returned to training over the past week and was an unused substitute for City’s 3-all UEFA Champions League draw with Feyenoord on Tuesday. But in a new interview published in the December edition of the City Magazine, Dias has said that he is now fully fit. That particular quote gives hope that he could start tomorrow’s massive Premier League clash with Liverpool at Anfield tomorrow.

Ruben Dias spoke on his physical condition in the interview published in the City Magazine that he is now fully fit. He said that he is over the injury that saw him miss the past month of football. Dias explained: “It’s never easy to be on the sidelines for any game, whatever reason and in any context. Obviously, that moment was not the best and you want to help your teammates and be there fighting alongside them. Going into the start of December, I am fully fit, though I have just returned to training after four weeks out, but I feel good.

There is hope that Ruben Dias could return against Liverpool based off of his recent interview.

The update provided by Ruben Dias on his recovery from injury is a positive one. It now appears that one of Manchester City’s most important players is ready to return to the pitch. His team needs him and starting at Anfield may be the ideal setting for his return.

Pep Guardiola’s side needs their defensive leader back in the heart of their defence. They have missed his leadership and his play at the back. If he can return to the starting lineup against Liverpool tomorrow that would be a massive boost for Manchester City. Dias is crucial to City’s defence and that fact has become more apparent with each game he has missed.

Whether or not Dias returns to the starting lineup tomorrow will be known when the starting lineups are announced tomorrow. But it is now clear that one of Manchester City’s most important players is nearing a return to action. That will be huge as Pep Guardiola’s side looks to snap out of their six-game winless run.
