Guglielmo Vicario played on through a serious injury to help Tottenham record a clean sheet against reigning Premier League champions Manchester City, while Italy centre-back Riccardo Calafiori made his long-awaited return to the Arsenal starting XI in their win iover Nottingham Forest.
Here is how the Italy internationals in the Premier League got on this weekend
Vicario and Destiny Udogie lined up as usual for Tottenham in their stunning 4-0 victory away against Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City.
Vicario played the full 90 minutes to claim his third Premier League clean sheet of the season, despite fracturing his ankle during the first half, which meant that he played for around an hour on a broken bone.

Tottenham have since confirmed that the recent Italy international has undergone surgery and that he is expected to be sidelined for a significant period.
Udogie, meanwhile, came off just before full-time. Reports at the time suggested that his withdrawal might have been on precautionary grounds, but it remains to be seen whether an actual injury has occurred.
Riccardo Calafiori returned to the Arsenal starting XI after missing his last six club matches, plus the most recent Italy national team fixtures in November.
The Italy centre-back, who started on the left of a back four again, earned an average rating of 7/10 from the English press, and earned particular praise for his defensive work from crosses and set pieces.
There was also a rare start for Jorginho in the Arsenal XI against Nottingham Forest, but the Italy veteran was hooked at half-time after picking up a yellow card in the opening 45.
Italy’s EURO 2020 winner Emerson Palmieri registered an assist for England international Jarrod Bowen during West Ham’s 2-0 victory away against Newcastle United on Monday night, although Sandro Tonali had to settle for an appearance off the bench.
Tonali has started the last three of Newcastle’s Premier League matches from the substitutes’ bench, as Eddie Howe seems to prefer a midfield trio of Bruno Guimaraes, Joe Willock and Sean Longstaff at the minute.
Caleb Okoli was back in the Leicester City starting line-up for the 2-1 loss against Chelsea over the weekend. Enzo Maresca, once again, did not call up Cesare Casadei, who has been linked with a move back to Italy in the January transfer window.
Federico Chiesa was spotted training on the grass at Liverpool, but he was not involved in his side’s 3-2 win over Southampton.
