Manchester United and Arsenal entered the interval at the Emirates with nothing to separate them following a cagey 45-minute affair.
In what poses as Ruben Amorim’s trickiest test as head coach thus far, he’s set his side up appropriately to deal with Arsenal’s ever-threatening forward players on their home soil.
United have just edged the hosts in possession and passes made but are struggling to make their mark moving up the pitch. Rasmus Hojlund has barely seen the ball, while Alejandro Garnacho has been granted his fair share of it – yet failed to really make anything come of his efforts.
Fans would have likely admitted heading into the clash that they’d have been pleased to leave North London with a point in the bag. However, given how the first half of the contest has played out, the game is certainly there for the taking in the second.

Amorim has been spotted going through the motions on the touchline, with Amazon Prime’s commentators admitting early into the game that the boss is ‘hard to read’. That didn’t stop Samuel Luckhurst from trying to gauge how he was feeling, however, as the journalist took to X/Twitter to highlight one moment supporters may have missed.
“Amorim frustrated with some of MUFC’s sideways/backward passes,” Luckhurst wrote. “Glaring criticism of them this half is there has been absolutely no goal threat, but they’ve so far asserted themselves well given key absences and a number of changes.”
