Today was a chance to illustrate the passion, history and future of an idea to which Juventus has been committed for years. The avant-garde vision, based upon inclusion and stories of athletes capable of expressing their potential to the full.
This is the heart of Juventus One, the Juventus project dedicated to Paralympic and Experimental football, and it was also at the heart of what was talked about today, 16 May 2025, in Turin.
In fact, the Turin Book Fair hosted the ‘Football and Inclusion’ panel, organised in the City of Turin and Metropolitan City Hall, which was attended, as speakers, by Giorgio Chiellini, Head of Football Institutional Relations of Juventus, together with Marco Tealdo, coordinator of the project, alongside Domenico Carretta, Councillor of Sport, Large Events, Tourism and Leisure, and Relations for Turin City Council, and Davide Leonardi, co-founder of the ‘Insuperabili’ (‘unbeatables’ – an organisation of football schools for those with disabilities).
The ESG department were present for Juventus, led by Greta Bodino, Chief People, Culture & Sustainability Officer. There were also some athletes from the Juventus One team, who spoke about their emotions, dreams and goals within the team: Nunzio Porro, Giuseppe Barone and Roberto Bressan.
Chiellini discussed his years of social commitment, from the very beginning with the ‘Insuperabili’ team (who play in the same league as Juventus One), and then took stock of the Juventus One project: “This league, which unites so many teams, is an important project and not only for us, because it also contributes to enriching the city of Turin, through the educational aspect that is fundamental to football. You would only need to attend just one of these boys’ training sessions to understand the depth of these initiatives. Juventus One is a long-term project, constantly evolving since 2017. Our dream is to one day register the athletes directly with Juventus, as happens for all the Club's athletes.” (Currently Paralympic footballers are registered with the project's local partner, in this case ASD Nessun Escluso, in line with the provisions of the Paralympic and Experimental Football Division of the FIGC).
Marco Tealdo also stated: “What we do today but also through our activities is to demonstrate, as we do in schools, that we are with the Juventus One at School project. We are from a collection backgrounds that have found in Juventus One a lifetime project, an impetus, using the tool of football. Here discrimination and ablist attitudes are abolished, because ours are real athletes: dignity comes first. We don't talk about football therapy, but football, because our ambition is to play and win, but also learning to manage defeat, an essential skill in a journey made up of training and everyday life. Juventus One is the essence of being a footballer.”
