Juventus sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli has firmly ruled his club out of the race for Manchester United target Victor Osimhen.

The Red Devils have made the signing of a number nine a major priority after an appalling season in front of goal in the Premier League.

United are reported to be in “pole position” to sign Ipswich Town striker Liam Delap but have also been credited with an interest in attackers such as Viktor Gyokeres and Benjamin Sesko.

One forward who has regularly linked to a move to Old Trafford is SSC Napoli’s Victor Osimhen, who is currently on loan at Galatasaray.

Nonetheless, the competition will be fierce for him as he is one of the most feared strikers in football.

Italian side Juventus have recently been linked with the striker but their sporting director has now sensationally ruled them out of the race.

Soccernet carry comments from Giuntoli that explicitly deny an interest in Osimhen, removing one potential obstacle from United’s path to completing a deal.

Giuntoli stated, “I am not interested in Osimhen. The rumours that you read in the Italian media are only to put pressure on us. Juventus does not want the player.”

Moreover, it has been reported that Napoli would do anything in their power to avoid the Nigerian moving to the Old Lady and a domestic rival.

Osimhen is said to be open to joining United but wants to become the club’s highest earner with Ineos reportedly keen to avoid this scenario.

The Nigeria international is also currently on the radar of both Chelsea and the Saudi Pro League.

He has been in electric form this season, scoring 33 goals in all competitions to date.
